“Fishing Shack.”

This beautiful, brick and sandstone outbuilding was neglected and overgrown and required some restoration work.

Our first step was to manually excavate the dirt floor to give some additional head room, this revealed lower portions of the walls that required further repair work. We did this using traditional lime mortar and thankfully were able to find the missing stones while removing the soil, so they blended in seamlessly.

We removed the old concrete threshold and replaced it with large flagstones. The client supplied some salvaged paving slabs, which were then used to create the new lower floor.

The client had a number of doors from previous projects that we modified to fit three of the four doorways, but to fit the unique main entrance we made a new oak panel door.
