Art Studio.

The first job for this studio project was to dig a trench for the services to this space, we later overlaid this with gravel and edged in reclaimed bricks to create a path to the site.

Once we had levelled the area and poured a concrete slab we built the dwarf wall for the oak frame to sit on.

The client had sourced some reclaimed oak joinery for the project so we incorporated these measurements at the design stage to ensure everything would work together.

The handmade oak frame was built in our workshop and then erected on-site, using traditional mortise and tenon joinery with oak pegs to hold the joints.

We used natural slate for the roof and featured a lead ‘mop handle’ detail for the hips and ridge.

Once the studio was built we focused on the external landscaping, with some Indian sandstone paving and steps leading to the garden, we also created raised sleeper beds for the client to plant up with a variety of plants and shrubs.
